To help you in achieving this objective I present a slide called the Path to Excellence, which gives world class benchmarks for your six key operating parameters.
I’ve developed these benchmarks over the years from my experience transforming companies in a variety of industrial sectors.
Recently I’ve had a couple of questions asking me the best way of using these benchmarks to get the biggest benefit.
I use these benchmarks as the basis for assessing your current business performance against what you could potentially achieve as outlined by these benchmarks. I want you to use them in the same way. These are the standards of excellence that I want you to aspire to.
So for each parameter you should calculate your present performance and identify where you sit on the Path to Excellence grid.
Then work out from the information given in the other Modules of the course how you can improve your performance in each parameter as closely as possible to the Excellence standard.
That’s how you pull ahead of your competition and become the best in your business.
